Project

Música térrea relates soundscape ecology and ethnomusicology on regional styles of traditional Argentinian music. Based on local sonic cultures the significance of human and non-human agency in traditional Argentinian music will be explored.

As an interdisciplinary project the outcomes entail scientific results as well as communicative elements like sound art exhibits.

Research

The project will analyze approximately 100 soundscape recordings from numerous locations all over Argentina. This will involve ethnographic as well as acoustic Analysis using Sound Ecology Software. The results will be related to musicological analysis of notations of traditional music.
